I love the intro! Very lively and upbeat.
the drums were an unexpected twist for me, they sound great though. Works well with the happy atmosphere I get from this piece.
Redo it and see what you come up with. Sounds good to me as is though!

ryanpaterson responds:

Thanks man I really appreciate it! Yeah the drums were a bit of a risk really, glad they came off well! I will redo this one then!
Thanks again

I can definitely hear the Turisas and other folk influence in the song. It sounds awesome.
-Get someone to do vocals over this.
-It needs a fat guitar solo.
Other than that this is awesome. Love the keys at 3:15

Sielumetsien responds:

Hey man, thanks for the review. I'm sure gonna look for someone to do vocals for some of my songs, including this.

Quite epic!
-The build up until 01:07 is awesome. I love the horns and the contrasting strings, they really add to the overall feeling or atmosphere of the song.
- After 01:07 and the drum "solo" piece are great. I didn't like the cymbals used so much. Perhaps because of the sample used?
- The final part, where everything comes together, is quite inspirational. Once again, the horns are my favourite.
Overall, great job on this.

thefadedcreed responds:

Why thank you!

I was very disappointed in the sample for the cymbals, it was supposed to be a cymbal roll with a crescendo. Didn't quite turn out right. Until I get new samples (and money for that matter) I'll just have use them. I guess it's better then midi though :P.

I am glad you liked the final part, was my favourite bit as well. I am glad you liked the horns, will be using them more :)

Thanks again!

I love this style. I experimented with rock song stuff played by classical instruments a while back but it never really worked. This, on the other hand, works great!
That pizzicato sure does the job of a great lead.
I would actually love to hear this played by a rock band, just to see how it comes out.
Very cool!

Calamity4ever responds:

Thank you so much for your response, it means a lot =) Originally I wanted this track to be composed in acoustic guitars with one violin, however I'm still a novice at live recording so sequencing the tracks in orchestral instruments seemed to suffice. :)

This song has so much going for it. A very full sound with lots of instruments is always great :D
I really like the acoustic and the strings that come in from around 00:45. The drums just add that extra touch I think.
-Guitar lead is cool but Bosa is right about it being slightly predictable. (And girls loving this song)
-Once again, really love that acoustic guitar.
Good job!

Keegs responds:

Thanks! As I told Bosa, that electric guitar wasn't supposed to be as melodic as it turned out, but I'll keep an eye on it for next time!

Thanks for the awesome review!

-Keegs

I really like the build up from the beginning. This has a very full sound which is awesome!
From 1:00 the instruments that are added really do well to add to the dynamic of the song. I think the drum sound could do with some work but other than that this is perfect
Good job

Thrixe responds:

Thank you! Yeah I know I was kinda lazy with the drum work

Haha! Awesome :D

samulis responds:

:D

Glad you like my troll symphony. I will tell them, but they will probably troll your webpage for it, so I may not.

The voice sounds cool but I don't know how well it works with the piece. I really like the piano and the rhythm of the song though :D I know what its like to work with these type of voice samples...You can never really tell if it works or not until you give it a good objective listening. The loop is awesome!

ApprenticeBlacksmith responds:

After 6 hours of listening this track (in row non stop) while drawing (http://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/apprenticeblacksmith/you-have-been-poisoned) I must agree that the voice is not fitting the track that well specially since the piano is way too powerfull compared to voice.
Gonna try to extend the melody right now and remove accapelas + give something extra to this tune.

Thank you for review! :)

The story works so well with this piece!
I can definitely believe you utilized so many instruments. The sound is so full and the pieces are so dynamic which is great :D My favourite piece was the piano at around 3:55
Good luck for the competition!

Neon-Bard responds:

That's great to hear! I'm glad you think that the sound is 'full and 'dynamic'. I tried my best to mix the instruments appropriately, and I suppose it paid off in the end! Thank you very much for listening. :D

This is awesome man!
Love the eastern sounds that you added. It works really well with the choir!

ApprenticeBlacksmith responds:

Thank you!
Overall I like how this ended up but the middle part is just too messy and this track miss somekind twist. Have to try to fix the middle part later.
